I catch a lot of "fanboy" heat when I say this but I think he is truly the best rapper alive. Because of that he wont get the respect he deserves because it doesnt sound like what everyone else sounds like.
He isnt popular because he is weird and doesnt make catchy pop rap songs (migos and post malone) if he spent more time developing more complete and thought out hooks/chorus it might help He's had some bangers, but the albums as a whole haven't been great. His recent work since Something Else has been subpar. When you discover new artist you tend to listen to their most recent work. If they actually go and listen to his discography pre-2014 they would be amazed at the variety of styles and meaningful songs he puts out. They haven't given him a chance (i.e they only heard World Wide Choppers, Caribou Lou and maybe a couple of his recent songs in the past few years.) And therefore, they just think oh yeah that dude raps fast there are a 100 of tech n9nes out there. Tech N9ne is my favorite rapper, I love his music but like some others said in here, it seems no one else really cares for him and I believe it's three reasons: I dont think enough people really give him a chance to listen to his music.
